Learning by doing is an appropriate method of teaching and learning. Keeping this in mind, a class activity was planned on 5th December,2017 for making a 3D cube with class III students. Children were told to bring straws and moulding clay to form a figure of a cube. They were instructed step by step to make two squares and join them with the help of four straws to create a cube. It helped children to understand the difference between a flat figure and a 3D object. The practical experience of forming a cube helped them memorize the vertices and sides of a cube. Children took this experiential learning effectively and shared different ideas to form other 3D objects. They enjoyed and had fun while learning.
