Guru Poornima Celebrations – Primary Section

On 10 July 2025, the Primary section of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, New Delhi, observed Guru Poornima with a deep sense of respect and purpose. The day provided young learners with a chance to reflect on the role of the Guru and to celebrate the values they represent.

The programme opened with the chanting of the Guru Stotram. The verses, recited with sincerity, brought a calm focus to the gathering and served as a reminder of the Guru’s presence as a guiding light in one’s life.

As part of the tribute to Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, students participated in an origami activity. With care and enthusiasm, they folded bright paper into flowers, which they then offered before Gurudev’s photograph. This simple act became a meaningful way for the children to express respect and affection.

A short video was shown, offering insight into Gurudev’s life and mission. Through visuals and storytelling, students learned how his clarity, compassion and vision transformed lives and shaped the Chinmaya Mission.

The celebration ended with a few quiet moments for personal reflection. Without prompts, the students sat still, allowing the messages of the day to settle in. It was a gentle but powerful way to close the experience.

Rather than a formal ceremony, the day felt like a shared journey of learning and remembrance. It helped students understand that Guru Poornima is not just about tradition, but about recognising those who help us grow in thought and character.
