Hand and Feet Hopscotch Activity – Pre-Primary Department
On 11 July 2025, the Pre-Primary deparment of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, New Delhi, turned into a lively and colourful space as young learners took part in a specially designed Hand and Feet Hopscotch activity.
The setup was simple but engaging, with bright patterns laid out on the floor, encouraging children to match their hands and feet to the shapes as they moved through the course. With each hop, step and stretch, the children explored movement in a playful yet purposeful way.
Beyond the fun, the activity supported important aspects of early development. It helped improve gross motor skills, balance and coordination, while also promoting spatial awareness and body control. The challenge of placing hands and feet correctly encouraged focus, while the rhythm of movement helped build confidence.
Laughter filled the air as children navigated the course, often pausing to cheer each other on. The excitement was matched by determination, and by the end of the session, the pride on their faces spoke volumes.
The Hand and Feet Hopscotch activity was a perfect blend of learning and fun. It gave students the freedom to move, explore and grow, while reinforcing the value of active play in early childhood education.
