Immersive Kathak Workshop

On 15 May 2025, the girls of Classes VI and VII at Chinmaya Vidyalaya had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage of Kathak, one of India's most revered classical dance forms. The workshop, conducted by renowned Kathak dancer, choreographer, and educator Gunjan Singh, was a journey into the heart of Indian tradition.

Trained under the legendary Padma Vibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj, Gunjan Singh guided the students through the fundamentals of Kathak, including mudras, chakras (spins), and the intricate connection between movement and storytelling. The workshop seamlessly wove together rhythm (taal), footwork, and expressions (abhinaya) to bring tales from mythology and history to life.

As the students explored the art of Kathak, their curiosity blossomed into graceful confidence. Witnessing their growth and enthusiasm was a joy, and the workshop proved to be a valuable experience for the young learners. The event was a testament to Chinmaya Vidyalaya's commitment to nurturing the cultural and artistic talents of its students.
