World Earth Day Celebration - Primary Department

On April 21, the Primary Department of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, New Delhi, celebrated World Earth Day with great enthusiasm. The learners of Class IV took centre stage in a beautiful assembly, highlighting the significance of protecting the planet for future generations.

The event began with a brief introduction to Earth Day, emphasizing the importance of reducing pollution, conserving resources, and planting trees. The students then brought the 1973 Chipko Movement to life on stage, showcasing the courageous efforts of women and children in Uttarakhand who fought to save trees from being cut down. This powerful dramatization highlighted the crucial role of forests in maintaining ecological balance, the importance of environmental conservation, and the significant role of women in conserving the environment.

The assembly also provided an opportunity to recognize the achievements of two outstanding students, Ayush and Tayyab, who secured third position in the National Yoga Championship in the rhythmic event. Their accomplishment was a testament to their dedication and passion for sports.

The assembly concluded with a pledge taken by all learners to contribute to a healthier planet by planting trees, reducing, reusing, and recycling products to conserve natural resources. This commitment underscored the importance of individual actions in protecting the environment and promoting sustainability. The World Earth Day celebration was a meaningful and engaging experience for the students, inspiring them to become responsible stewards of the planet.
