Rasatman Programme
Nurturing Soulful Living in Young Minds

Chinmaya Vidyalaya, New Delhi, has introduced the Rasatman Programme, with Mr. Shyam Banerji and Ms. Ruma Dasgupta at the helm, to help its students lead more mindful and values-driven lives. Rather than prescribing a rigid syllabus, this initiative gives teachers the freedom to explore Spiritual and Moral Education in ways that feel alive and relevant.

Why Rasatman?
Children today juggle heavy academic demands and a whirlwind of extracurricular pressures. Rasatman offers practical insights and gentle guidance so that every young person can face life’s ups and downs with steadiness, optimism and a stronger sense of self.

What Makes Rasatman Special
- Adaptable framework: A broad outline allows each class to shape activities around its own interests and needs.
- Rich storytelling: Lessons draw on anecdotes, news snippets, poetry and friendly debates to spark curiosity.
- Timeless inspiration: Core teachings come from Chinmaya Mission’s key publications, enriched by wisdom from diverse cultures.
- Soul-centred living: Emphasis on love, compassion, humility and honest self-reflection rather than rote learning.
How Students Benefit
- Gains in confidence: Practical exercises foster fearlessness and genuine self-belief.
- Sharper thinking: Regular reflection helps pupils make kinder, more thoughtful choices.
- Emotional intelligence: Activities strengthen empathy, communication and the ability to bounce back from setbacks.
Rasatman is currently engaging learners in Grades VI and VII, with plans to roll it out across all levels in the months ahead.
The Guiding Thought
Inspired by Swami Tejomayananda’s conviction—“Right thinking leads us to The Truth that sets us free”—the programme seeks to nurture young hearts and minds so that each student discovers purpose, joy and inner resilience.
