Honouring the Past, Inspiring the Future

Chinmaya Vidyalaya, New Delhi, commemorated the 79th Independence Day on 13 August 2025 with grandeur and fervent patriotism. The occasion was graced by the Chief Guest, Rear Admiral Aditya Hara, distinguished guests Mr Shyam Banerjee and Ms Ruma Dasgupta, along with respected members of the Parent-Teacher Association.

The celebrations commenced with the ceremonial felicitation of the dignitaries, followed by the flag hoisting performed by the Chief Guest and the Principal. As the National Anthem was sung in unison, a profound sense of pride and unity enveloped the gathering. The NCC cadets of the school then presented a flawlessly synchronised parade, reflecting their discipline, precision and dedication.

In his inspiring address, Rear Admiral Aditya Hara reminded students of the sacrifices made for freedom and urged them to channel their potential towards nation-building. His words encouraged young minds to cherish their liberty while working with commitment to create a stronger and more compassionate India.

The cultural segment unfolded with a series of impressive performances. The school choir presented Abhinandan, a melodious tribute to the nation, followed by a theatrical production Chains Broken, Change Awakened which powerfully depicted India’s struggle for independence. A vibrant dance medley celebrated the richness and diversity of India’s cultural heritage, filling the atmosphere with colour and energy.

In her address, the Principal lauded the students’ enthusiasm and highlighted the pivotal role of youth in shaping a progressive and harmonious society. The programme concluded with the Swachh Bharat pledge, taken by both students and staff, affirming their responsibility to uphold cleanliness and adopt hygienic practices as a commitment to national progress.

A heartfelt vote of thanks was delivered by the Head Boy and Head Girl, followed by the soulful rendition of the National Song, which left the gathering with a lasting sense of unity and pride.

The day’s celebration was not only a tribute to India’s glorious past but also a call to action for the future. It instilled in students a deeper appreciation of independence, the virtues of civic responsibility, and the collective endeavour required to build a stronger and brighter India.
