Craft. Connect. Conquer. Resume-Building Workshop

On 25 August 2025, the students of Class XII at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, New Delhi, participated in a focused and practical workshop titled “Writing Resumes for Success”. The session, held at the ATL Lab, was led by Mr Praveen Khanna, a certified Business Communication Specialist, and guided by teachers Ms Gopa Burman, Ms Deepika Singh and Mr Brijesh Kumar Loshali. Its objective was to equip learners with essential skills to craft impactful resumes that reflect both competence and clarity.

Mr Khanna began by stressing the importance of structure and presentation, explaining why resumes should be organised in reverse chronological order, kept concise and designed with clear fonts and proper spacing for easy readability. He also reminded students of the need to use professional email addresses and to tailor resumes to specific opportunities.

The workshop introduced learners to modern tools such as VisualCV, Canva and Enhancv, which allow for creative yet professional resume designs. Students also gained practical insights into the use of keywords, formatting techniques and layout choices that can significantly enhance visibility in competitive application processes.

The session was highly interactive, with opportunities for learners to reflect on their achievements, articulate personal strengths and link these to career goals. By the conclusion of the workshop, students expressed greater confidence in their ability to create resumes that present their skills and aspirations with clarity and impact.

The event successfully blended practical guidance with self-reflection, preparing students not just to write resumes but to approach their career journeys with purpose, professionalism and self-assurance.
